Position: Healthcare Fund Utilization Reviewer

Salary: $15,000 - $30,000 per annum, depending on qualifications

Qualifications: Must be a practicing physician or registered nurse, with at least five (5) years of clinical care or nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least two (2) years experience in utilization review. Certification in Utilization Review or Utilization Management is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitors hospital and clinic utilization of all patients referred to the Philippines under the Healthcare Fund Program, in accordance with Healthcare Fund regulations.
- Reviews patient's medical records to established criteria and confers with medical and nursing personnel and other professional staff to determine legitimacy of treatment and length of stay.
- Reviews all bills for payment and checks on accuracy and appropriateness of bills,
- Coordinates with the Medical Utilization Coordinator, who represents the Government of Palau Medical Referral Program, for utilization review and quality assurance purposes.
- Prepares statistical reports and status reports on the medical expenses of all patients.
- Performs any additional duties are assigned by the Healthcare Fund Senior Utilization Reviewer and the Social Security Administrator.

- Reviews billings from utilization reviewer for patients who completed care in the Philippines under the Healthcare Fund Program, and certifies for reimbursement processing.

- May supervise and coordinate activities with Utilization Reviewer and Palau Medical Referral Program Medical Utilization Coordinator for quality assurance purposes.

- Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Social Security Administrator.

The Research Department of PICRC is seeking applicants for the position of Research Assistant. We are seeking applicants with good work habits, willingness and capability to try and learn new things, and able to work well with others. The researcher assistant is expected to be involved in all aspect of research work including field work, data entry and analysis. While a SCUBA certification is not a requirement, the applicant must be physically able to SCUBA dive if provided proper training. Major Duties & Responsibilities
Promote Palau as a choice and desirable travel destination for the Japan market through media, sales seminars and sales calls to travel agents, airlines and related entities. Professionally represent Palau as a choice and desirable destination and promote all aspects of Palau's tourism in a professional manner.
Assist Japan travel entities interested in promoting Palau as a choice and desirable destination by disseminating promotional collateral, informing them of new facilities, services, products, sites etc., in Palau. Provide responses to inquiries about Palau to travel agents and consumers alike.
Organize special events to generate awareness of Palau among potential travelers and travel packages in Japan, including, but not limited to organizing press trips to Palau, travel agents visits, media blitz, as well as organize and participate in trade shows, etc.
Take proactive role in getting the appropriate media of television program to write about or show Palau's attractions besides scuba diving, e.g sport-fishing, cultural and historical tours students exchange programs, home-stay programs, etc.
Continuously conduct market assessment of Japanese travel market, its impact on Palau review. Japanese travel trends and market trends to make educated forecast for PVA, conduct research to measure the trend of tourists to Palau from Japan, as well as other destinations by way of Japan.
Liaise with airlines, travel agencies, special interest travel groups, etc and enlist cooperation from these entities, when conducting special visits to Palau or conducting special events for Palau and Japan.
